Andrew Wade.

I was born in Norway in 1979 to an English father and mother from British Guyana, South America. I moved to England in 1986 at the age of 7.

I found learning languages at school fairly simple as I was initially brought up bilingually speaking Norwegian and English. I played all sports at school including football, rugby, cricket, hockey, tennis and athletics. I played the piano and cello.

I worked in Germany for one year in my twenties and did one year of study in
France.

I moved back to the UK and worked in export sales for UK manufacturing companies selling goods across Europe and latterly into Africa. I therefore have several recommendations as to how the UK economy could grow by increasing its export sales for UK manufacturers.

I speak German and French to a good level and still speak some Norwegian. I am a typical person who has integrated in every country I have lived having spoken the language and socialised with locals. I played rugby in France for a year and still have friends in many countries.

I captain a village cricket team in England and have coached some 10 and 11 year olds teaching them the values of teamwork and leadership as well as how to smash the ball for six.

About the Core Values Movement.

My name is Andrew Wade. I’m just your typical UK taxpayer who is fed up of paying high taxes to live in a country of high crime, poor infrastructure, an inefficiently run health service and public places overrun with litter and an outlook of economic gloom.

Britain has a fundamental problem that successive Governments feel totally entitled to tax us hugely on everything we do and then waste a vast amount of this money.

Although the UK is a failed state, I’m fairly adept with playing the cards that we are dealt. On the back of Rachel Reeves’ budget, I made money from the stock market betting against the UK. One of my friends said how sad it was that one of the most formerly patriotic people he knew was betting against the UK and rightfully so.

Another thing which is sad is finding out how the poor state of the country is directly affecting my friends.

I am finding out that more and more of my friends on lower incomes who have always worked are relying on Universal Credit payments to survive. Due to all the horrendous tax disincentives for private landlords, I hear of them selling up and low income households who have been good tenants being forced to move but their incomes are too low to obtain new accommodation.

I have seen the middle class getting squeezed continually for years so now friends of mine who are in couples where both are decent earners still having huge mortgages on modest houses as they approach turning 50 and they have adult children living at home saving diligently but nowhere near being able to move out.

I then speak to friends of mine who are millionaires who all mentor people so they might succeed financially and would be happy to invest in ventures that would benefit the public.

However, why would a millionaire want to invest in building social housing when they would have to pay vast capital gains on an existing asset they have to sell to raise the cash and then pay huge levels of stamp duty to buy the property, and then get taxed ridiculously on the income or dividend payments they get?

These people didn’t become successful in business by investing their money into institutions who are terrible at managing debt and have a terrible return on invested capital. This is exactly what the UK Government is.

The most alarming thing about all of this is that these issues can be solved.

We could easily unlock money from millionaires for the public good and improve living standards for everyone.

To date, my career has been selling goods manufactured in the UK across Europe and then in Africa. I had good success across Europe and unfortunately less so in Africa. However, one small bit of success I had in Africa was selling construction equipment to a contractor on a huge project in Kenya. They had previously bought all their construction machinery from China but switched to buy the UK made machinery that I was offering. Years later, I visited them and they were still using the UK made machinery. My experience made me realise that the UK should have a much more ambitious industrial strategy and be setting out policies to boost our manufacturing instead of having an attitude of defeatism that all manufacturing will go to other countries. My strategy to boost UK exports should be one key aspect of Rachel Reeves’ growth strategy and should have been part of Nigel Farage’s Brexit vision.

My immediate goal is to provide the British public with information on important topics such as how we could cut electricity bills and gain as much publicity as possible so we can really implement changes for the public good.

My goal over the course of the next 3 years is to put forward many common sensical solutions to the UK’s mass of problems and then join forces with other people who are doing things for the public good, unite and stand at the next general election with a strong track record behind us having forced politicians to act for the public good instead of their wealthy donors.

Solution to The Cost of Living Crisis!

Reduce the Size of the welfare state by giving relevant work by demographic. Have a 5% income tax rate for 2nd jobs up to earnings of £5,000. Motivate the Rich to fund all the UK's Affordable Housing. Reduce Fuel Duty by 36p per litre and make petrol £1 per litre tomorrow.

Stop Blaming the Rich! How to Fix the UK!

The UK punished private landlords repeatedly so they had to put up rents. So a policy of setting out to hurt people with some wealth partly caused the cost of living crisis. Freezing immigration would be reckless as 400,000 foreign students come to the UK and pay 2.5 times the amount of UK students. This would be a repeat of Brexit of throwing out the good with the bad.

Reaction to Reforms Britannia Card!

I agree with the principle of trying to keep and attract high net worth individuals in the UK. However, I would pursue a different policy of offering millionaires reduced capital gains tax rates to sell their foreign assets if they invest in affordable housing in the UK.
